Our History

Forgotten OutlawZ (FZ) was officially active around November 2001. Like always the idea of FZ was floating around for a while before that happen.

It started with a core of longtime players, Bubba, Heckenshultze, Lesabre, M3Tal and Wallace. It grew (and still is) from there. IRC channels were established on irc.enterthegame.com #clan_fz irc.gamesnet.net #clan_fz In November 2001 Heckenshultze and Wallace formed our West coast 2vs2 counter-strike OGL ladder team, to which M3Tal was added in December 2001. Without having won a single played match (lots of win by forfeit) that team registered up to the 16th place on the ladder from a start at the 250th position in just under 3 months. Which made us laugh to no end. Current position depends on the moon and astral projections :o).

Once a few more player were added to the roster, FZ joined the clanbase (CB, www.clanbase.com) counter-strike ladder. To this day this is a competitive ladder in which we have attain the 15th and still going. We average 2 match a week in that ladder. Mixed results, usually fun.

Other ladder and tourney FZ joined include:
- Best Of The Best (BOTB, www.botbleague.com) in which only one match was ever played. Looks like that league folded due to match rules problems.

- TeamWarfare league (TWL, www.teamwarfare.com), which we quit because we found the rules to be ghey. We disagreed with the scoring system.

- TrueGamersLeague (TGL), well man I don't remember a match with this one. Did it ever start ?

- .ca : Challenge Series, (www.headnorth.com/counter-strike) hosted by the Canada clan ([.ca]). Ongoing ladder at about 1 match per week (usually mondays).

in February 2002, web hosting was acquired for the www.teamfz.org domain. as well as getting a functional forum/message board going.

From all this came a few funny facts, some a little less funny.

A few matches were played with only 2 FZ players vs a stacked team for the first matches in the CB ladder. Mostly M3Tal and Wallace providing target practice to whom ever wished it. Even winning a few rounds when the other team let themselves be fooled by their superior numbers.

We made friends with a few clans, [BOIS], [.ca]. We made bad blood of others (thuglife server...), ...

What's the next step? Where do we go from here?

To the top, all the way.

After 10 months of newcomers and quitters,...

Forgotten OutlawZ is still alive!

In 10 months we refined the website layout, added new features. Enjoyed (or not) the match and scrimmage with fellow members.

We have units playing the 2vs2 ladders on worldogl.
Notably
Wallace and M3Tal have been playing 2v2 worldogl West, with a impressive 0/11 record. Yep, you read it, not a single win yet!. Speedy was added to the team To beef it up a little :).

We've added East and Central teams for OGL 2v2's. East made out 2-1 record and dropped. Central with 0-0 record and decided to drop.

FZ is still on the Clanbase ladder, record was reset when it was at 17-19. To start fresh (0-0). We have worked hard to make our record even. We ended up killing 3 clan after we kinda won (raped) over them in matches. Clan PTK (Paid to Kill), PHX (Pheonix) and 5-7. PTK and PHX leaders decided to join up with us. PTK leader (Snipez) made it in after a couple of weeks. PHX leader (Speedy) was in after a few days. Boosting our rank with his experience.

FZ is still competing for CA Series (Challenge Series). We had first joined their 2nd season. First 4 games turn out 0-4 and we've went to playoffs and we got to play donkey from an other pool, they were 0-4 as well. We both met up at the server and battled around.. FZ has won! went to next round to face the [COH] again in semi-finals. Games were really close and we lost. So few days later, [COH] has disbanded.

CS 1.5 has came out and with it we have seen a lot of good clans disbanded. The CA Series has put FZ back on track to the finals to face 9-ball. For months 9-ball hasn't come around to play us. We've showed up twice and they were no show. So I don't know if we had won 3rd place or whatever. CA Series is starting up 3rd Season this Fall. We tend to continue competing in that small private series.

FZ got removed from TGL (True Gamers League) due to an overbooking of clans and we weren't up to the same level of the better clans. So Season 2 went by and we have finally signed up for 3rd season and hopefully we would get to play TGL again.

FZ and BOIS became allies and battled each other few matches on clanbase. BOIS has allowed Wallace to use their server for practices once a week and use for matches. BOIS has been upgrading their server a lot and finally done with it. Got their Psycho-Stats up. Wallace, heck and speedy has made up top 1st place on BOIS stats for few days.

FZ|Snipez came to Wallace, asked if FZ wanted a server.. and Wallace wasn't so sure if that was a joke. Snipez old clan KAOS disbanded and KAOS server was lying around and doing nothing. So Snipez brought that server out of hibernation and put under FZ Server. Snipez worked hard putting up hl-guard, csguard, adminmod and anything to make this server successful. Our next step is to get psycho-stats and get another server for private only.

FZ has finally got thier own domain for webhost from www.your-site.com. only gave us 50mb space.. kinda small as we can't store the large quantity of demos we have; but its a start. we plan to move to a host with more space so we can store our demos and map packs for members to use (unless we get a good deal).

Wallace has made a league, "Best of the Outlawz".. didn't work out with name and battled around with new name. Turned out "League of Counter Outlawz" (LOCO). First 2 weeks were wonderful and rest turn out dead. LOCO died. Wallace and steel came together and battled around with new ideas and created CFS (CrossFire Series). Got host from www.bshx.com and website. Got sign ups ready and month later turn out dead. So they just needed a better automated website for easier update for clan leaders to access to their clan information.

FZ has got new members, they were Striker, Escargot, Ranmakun, Blackhawk. We've dropped a few players, they were Skwong, Layzie, Deafy H-Towner. Toxic and w00di3 has quit thier own reasons. We've kicked snake-eyez out due to his burst of immaturity. Sorry snakes, its the truth.

FZ has done a lot of scrimmages, league matches. Our Scrim record looks really bad.. we haven't won that many at all.. turns out only 3 wins out of 25 Scrimmages.

IGL came up and FZ has signed up for that and we never won a game. turn out all 1-7 (1 forfeit win). Then we made to the consolation playoffs and lost the 1st round. IGL|Russ has resigned from IGL So they have been busy finding admins to have Season 3 going.

Wondering whats the next step here.. We plan to continue with this clan forever.

Hello everyone I just want to say first that It has been a pleasure being in FZ. I've been in FZ for almost 3 years. After about a year I was promted to CO-Leader I was only CO-Leader for about 4 months. After that I became Leader of FZ CS Division.

It has been a long road to get to where we are todAY. The next step was to get a public server for recruiting and finding good players. The one thing i enjoy with this team is we are like brothers. I would like to thank all of you who have made our server a great place to play. Also my teammates Rat, Gotti, GO-Buckeyes, Cyberscope and many more for alot of fun and good times. We will continue to recruit good players, build a team that is the best. That is what we strive for.

I also want to thank Wallace for beliving in me in the begining. Props to you bro for all your hard work with all the divisions and the website work I cant forget Metal who has been the best supporter of FZ thank you bro for all that you do it may seem little to you but it is huge to us. So there you have it a breif history of my FZ journey and some heart felt thanks.

Janurary 2006

I’m not sure how the CS 1.6 began so I’ll just write about the history of the division I headed.

Following the closing of the popular gaming league, Proving Grounds, Forgotten OutlawZ Counter Strike 1.6 Division disbanded in November of 2004 due to the growing interest in Counter Strike: Source. Most of the members followed their division leader Kaptan Kow into Source; however, the other members scattered, some looking for new clans, others seeking to form their own.

After joining the FZ Source division, I realized that I enjoyed Counter Strike 1.6 more than Source. Therefore, I convinced Wally in January of 2005 to open the division for CS 1.6 again with me as the leader. Because most of the members disappeared after Kow’s CS 1.6 Division broke up and only sKilless, Speedy (Tekk) and I remained, I sought for a couple of new members to reach the required roster number. With the support from former leader Kaptan Kow, the new CS 1.6 Division was formed within the next few weeks, the roster consisting of sKilless, Frailty, Tekk, Jamerz, Eatbuckshot, Kaptan Kow, Wally and I (Lain aka ethanoL). By early February, the team was unstable, yet complete, using a central server and Teamspeak provided by Kaptan Kow. However, because Proving Grounds had closed down several months earlier, I was left with a few choices in league selection, OGL, PCGN, TWL, CAL and GGL.

PCGN was a great league, but was not the right one for us. Although our record consisted a ratio of nearly 6:1 (11 - 2), we felt that the times were hard to cope with because most of the teams there were East. Therefore at the end June, we decided to leave the league for OGL. At the same time, Kaptan Kow announced that he will be undergoing surgery and will not be able to provide us with a server and Teamspeak anymore. I do not know if it is coincidence or not, but several days after Kow’s announcement, I felt Crazedgo0n while playing CS Source. After playing with him for a few hours, I realized that he could be a potential addition to our roster. What was more surprising was that after he joined the team and finding out that we were lacking a server, he told me that he could provide us with a new server by changing his Source Nuclear Fallout Server into a CS 1.6.

By then, the team has grown quite a bit with members coming in and leaving. With our new server, we were able to hold tryouts for four consecutive weeks. We gained several new members such as BillyBob, Urban Ranger and So. Within the next few weeks, we dedicated ourselves to signing up for OGL and practicing for the new competition that awaits us. In OGL, we signed up for both the Central 5v5 Open and the CS 3v3 Open ladders. With the Teamspeak expiring soon, we decided to share a Teamspeak server with the BF2 leader, Urban Ranger, who was also part of the CS 1.6 division. We had a rough start in OGL, losing the first match. However, we made a come back with our new line up that consisted of several of the old members who came back; the roster consisted of Ethanol, sKilless, Cheboi_``, Eatbuckshot, Quietus (So.), BillyBob, Crazedgo0n, Urban Ranger, Wallace, and Tekk.

By the end of September, we were placed in the top 5 teams in OGL Central 5v5 Open and top 10 in CS 3v3 Open as our team was boosted with the addition of Chupa. Although we were doing well in both ladders, fate struck us down as we lost several consecutive matches, dropping us down to a Rung in the 20s. With the pressure rising and disappointment growing, sKilless and I decided to make a last call for tryouts to recruit some new members during the week of Thanksgiving because some of our players had gone inactive (such as Crazedgo0n and Chupa) and others who had left (Cheboi, and Tekk). However, before we can recruit anyone new, Quietus decided to leave the clan. With one of our starters for both ladders leaving and other players in low morale, sKilless and I decided to end the division. On November 23rd, 2005, I officially declared the Forgotten OutlawZ Counter Strike 1.6 Division dead. It was hard to say goodbye, but all good things must come to an end…

I leave this clan with my declaration of the team’s disbandment: The Forgotten OutlawZ Counter Strike 1.6 Division has been a blast. I enjoyed playing with the team. We owned a lot of teams and got owned by a lot, too. We've had people coming in and leaving. We've made some good calls and we've made some mistakes. However, these ups and downs were what really made this division so incredible. Recently, there had been a lot of changes in the roster. It was extremely painful losing some of our best players such as Speedy (aka Tekk), Cheboi and recently Crazedgo0n with sKilless nearly quitting several times. The team moral got really low with the recent losses. Many of our teammates, especially sKilless and I, feel very disappointed in our own performances, as well as the team's. After much debate, I have decided that it is time for the Forgotten OutlawZ CS 1.6 Division to come to an end. I was truly blessed to have entered Forgotten OutlawZ during the September of 2003. The first year with the Counter Strike Division under the leadership of Kaptan Kow was truly a blast. I made a lot of new friends and got to play with a lot of great players (Rat, Gotti, Cyberscope, Bubs, sKilless, Cheboi, etc.) However, all good things must come to an end, Kow and the other players went Source, leaving sKilless and I in 1.6. I would like to thank Wally for giving me the chance in the January of 2004 to restart the Counter-Strike Division. After being active for almost a year and placing in top rungs in both PCGN and OGL (despite the recent losses which has brought us down), I formally declare the Forgotten OutlawZ Counter Strike 1.6 Division dead. I have had some of the best times in my gaming life during these two years with Forgotten OutlawZ. I've grown close with a lot of the members (Wally, Kaptan Kow, Cheboi, Tekk), many of whom have left. Although I have never been too intimate with the Call of Duty Division, I have heard of your glories and enjoyed your forum posts, many of which have left me with a deep impression such as Brack and his hilarious jokes. Again these two years have been great and I loved every moment of it.
